Result Chair

In the 1960s, several Dutch schools used the Result chair, which is a classic Modernist chair. Originally designed by Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld while employed at Ahrend in the mid-twentieth century, the range has been relaunched and revised by HAY and Ahrend in collaboration.

Manufacturing advancements in steel fabrication and rubberized plastics have occurred since their inception. It encouraged HAY to remodel the chair to make it lighter while retaining its strength. A clever link between the more flexible steel back supports and the moulded plywood allows for even more flexibility and, as a result, greater user comfort.

The Result Chair and Pyramid Tables are the pinnacle of cutout sheet steel construction, designed to be adaptable, light, and solid. When it was first introduced in the 1950s, it was hailed as a success for its revolutionary use of sheet steel, paving the way for organically shaped goods. It is noteworthy today, both as individual items and as a set, for its sparing use of materials, simplistic construction, and light weight. These long-lasting designs show functional excellence and visual lightness that have been tested in real-world settings for decades.
