The Palissade Lounge Chair from HAY is one of 13 outdoor furniture pieces with the same basic geometry. The chair comes in two versions: a low version and a high version with additional head support.
Palissade was born out of Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec's research into outdoor furniture typologies at their studio. The collection has a light appearance but is reassuringly solid. HAY has created an instant classic by incorporating archetypal furniture references and shape simplicity.
Each piece has been meticulously designed to keep the body in perfect balance. In each typology, the angles, curves, and juxtaposition between the frame and the slats shift almost imperceptibly yet significantly. The style itself is comfortable and elegant, and the light grey, cream white, anthracite, and olive colour palette makes the pieces suitable for both natural and urban environments.
