Palissade Dining Chair

The Palissade Dining Chair is a functional and comfortable chair for dining al fresco on warm summer evenings. Surface water drains easily thanks to the wide gaps in the surfaces, requiring no maintenance. This dining chair can also be stacked up to 8 pieces high for quick Winter storage.

Palissade was created by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec for HAY after a period of research into outdoor furniture typologies at their workshop. The collection has a light appearance but is reassuringly solid. HAY has created an instant classic by incorporating archetypal furniture references and shape simplicity.

Each piece has been meticulously designed to keep the body in perfect balance. In each typology, the angles, curves, and juxtaposition between the frame and the slats shift almost imperceptibly yet significantly. The style itself is comfortable and elegant, and the light grey, anthracite, and olive colour palette makes the pieces suitable for both natural and urban environments. In 2019, a 'hot galvanised' finish was introduced for an industrial aesthetic and the best weather resistance.

Palissade is designed to be used over a long period of time and to improve in beauty over time. The selection is suitable for a wide range of settings, including cafés, restaurants, gardens, terraces, and balconies.
