Copenhague is a furniture series designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec with a home away from home, inviting expression and practical qualities such as stackability, durability, and ease of cleaning, making it an ideal option for a modern, busy home. The Bouroullec brothers approached the design of Copenhague by mixing design tradition with modern technology in a powerful and independent design to create a wide and flexible sequence that can be used in both informal and formal areas.
Both laminate and linoleum finish options are available for the Copenhague dining table; both have excellent marking resistance, and linoleum offers a highly matt, soft touch surface that is anti-fingerprint and easily washed. The table comes flat-packed with four solid wood legs that are quick to assemble; the table's bracing is already in place on the underside.
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are brothers who have been working together as co-founders of their own design studio in Paris since 1999. Their work encompasses anything from small utilitarian objects to large-scale architectural ventures. The design and organisation of interior space is their primary concern. The Copenhague furniture series was originally produced specifically for the University of Copenhagen's new buildings, and after a resounding success, HAY decided to bring the tables to the domestic and project market.
