The Hay Copenhague is a furniture series designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec with a home away from home, inviting expression and practical qualities such as stackability, durability, and ease of cleaning, making it an ideal option for a modern, busy home. The Bouroullec brothers approached the design of Copenhague by mixing design tradition with modern technology in a powerful and independent design to create a wide and flexible sequence that can be used in both informal and formal areas.
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are brothers who have been working together as co-founders of their own design studio in Paris since 1999. Their work encompasses anything from small utilitarian objects to large-scale architectural ventures. The design and organisation of interior space is their primary concern. The Copenhague furniture series was originally produced specifically for the University of Copenhagen's new buildings, and after a resounding success, HAY decided to bring the tables to the domestic and project market.
